Tuscola County Medical Care Community

Corporate Compliance

We hold ourselves to the letter and the spirit of every law and regulation that governs our work. Here is how the program works and how to raise a concern.

Our policy

Tuscola County Medical Care Community conducts its business with quality, efficiency, honesty, integrity and respect, in full compliance with applicable laws and regulations. The facility and its governing board are committed to operating within both the letter and the spirit of the law, and within our own policies and procedures.

The compliance program

The program is led by the Corporate Compliance Officer, who reports directly to the facility administrator and, as needed, to the board. An interdisciplinary Compliance Committee representing every area of practice develops and maintains the program, evaluates how well it is working, and oversees any corrective action taken to resolve issues.

Duty to report

Every employee must report suspected non compliance, including unethical behavior, fraud, theft, asset abuse, health and safety issues and conflicts of interest. Staying silent about a known issue can itself lead to discipline.

No retaliation

Intimidating or retaliating against anyone who reports a concern or takes part in an investigation is strictly prohibited, with discipline up to and including termination.

Anonymity and confidentiality

You can report anonymously, though a report we cannot follow up on may limit the investigation. If you share your name and ask for confidentiality, we keep your identity as private as the law allows.

How to report a concern

  • 24 hour hotline: (833) 605-2505. You will reach a voicemail system. Leave enough specific detail to start an investigation. The complaint form below shows what information helps most.
  • Complaint form: Download the complaint form (PDF), then send it by mail or email.
  • Email: [email protected]
  • Mail: Tuscola County Medical Care Community, ATTN: Corporate Compliance Officer, 1285 Cleaver Rd., Caro, MI 48723

What happens next

Every hotline complaint is logged and investigated. The Corporate Compliance Officer reviews each investigation and works with management and the Compliance Committee on the right course of action: fixing the problem itself, and revising procedures so the same issue does not happen again.
